A North Carolina native and former resident of Lynchburg, Virginia, Darrell Laurant is the author of Inspiration Street:  Two City Blocks That Helped Change America and a novel, The Kudzu Kid. 

After retiring in 2013 as a columnist for The News & Advance (Lynchburg) newspaper, Darrell and his wife, Gail, relocated to New York where they now reside at Lake George.
