SouthernEdition.com MeMa's Old-Fashioned Chocolate Icing

1 1/2 cups sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla

2 tablespoons butter

2 tablespoons cocoa powder

1 cup milk

Mix all ingredients together in a saucepan and bring to a slow boil, stirring constantly. Boil for about 5 minutes or until mixture thickens enough to spread. Allow to cool before spreading onto cake.
